Protection of labor rights

Work is the basis of individual and social well-being. Everyone has the right to freely choose their type of activity, profession, occupation and workplace based on their ability to work. Labor contracts are concluded freely. No one can be forced to enter into an employment contract. Everyone has the right to work in safe and healthy conditions, and to be paid for their work, without any discrimination, not less than the minimum wage set by the state. The unemployed have the right to receive social benefits from the state. The state uses all its possibilities to eliminate unemployment.

The Labor Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan regulates labor relations between employees and employers, as well as other legal relations arising from those relations between them and relevant state authorities and legal entities. The Labor Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan defines the minimum norms of the labor rights of natural persons and the rules ensuring the realization of these rights.

Labor relations - personal fulfillment of the labor function for the profession or position for which he was hired (appointed), elected, reinstated by the employee at the workplace determined on the basis of mutual agreement with the employer in accordance with the obligations stipulated in the labor legislation, collective agreements and agreements, with payment of wages, are relations based on the observance of internal disciplinary rules, the provision by the employer of the employee's working conditions, guarantees and labor protection, as well as the principles of this Code.
